Sesame chutney or Ellu chutney is made using either black or white sesame seeds.Flavorful,crunchy sesame seeds are widely considered healthy foods.Sesame is among seeds rich in quality vitamins, and minerals.The seeds are used in many traditional south-Indian sweet delicacies like sesame burfis,sesame balls.Roasted and crushed seeds are sprinkled over salads and desserts.Sesame Chutney has a delicious nutty,crunchy taste.Very easy and healthy chutney to make for breakfast.A must try healthy chutney variety.
2 tbsp sesame seeds (white or black)
2 tbsp grated coconut
4 cloves of garlic
An inch of ginger
5-7 dried red chillies
1 pea-sized tamarind
2 tsp sesame oil
PREPARATION TIME : 1O MINS
COOKING TIME : 10 MINS
SERVES : 4
Heat 1 tsp oil in a kadai,add sesame seeds and saute for 2 mins in simmer flame.
Add garlic,ginger,coconut,tamarind,dried red chilies and saute for 5 mins.
Remove from flame ,cool the mixture,add salt and grind it in a mixer.
Sesame Chutney is ready to serve with Idly or Dosai.
