Veggie pops are crunchy, crispy balls that can be made as an evening snack for the kids. These veggie pops are very nutritious with a variety of vegetables.I got this recipe from Vah chef, and made it so many times. They are super crunchy and delicious to taste.Even greens, baby corn, sweet corn can be added along with the veggies.
Children will definitely love these veggie pops,so we can add the vegetables they refuse to eat and make these pops. Do make these pops and enjoy your evening time with your family and friends.
INGREDIENTS
You can add any vegetables of your choice.
2 tbsp broccoli (chopped)
2 tbsp carrots (chopped)
2 tbsp beans (chopped)
2 tbsp peas (chopped)
1/4 cup rava/sooji
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp oregano
3 tbsp + 2 tsp maida(all purpose flour)
3/4 cup bread crumbs
1/2 tbsp oil
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying
COOKING TIME : 45 MINS
PREPARATION TIME : 15 MINS
YIELDS : 25-30
METHOD
Heat oil in pan,add the veggies and saute for 3 mins on medium flame.
Add oregano, pepper and mix well with the veggies.
Add 1/2 cup water and bring to boil, then add the rava and cook on low flame for 2 mins.Switch off the flame.
Meanwhile mix maida, pepper, salt and form a mixture.
Bring a litre of water to boil in a large vessel and keep it aside.
Add 2 tsp of maida to the cooked veggies, mix them well and make gooseberry sized balls.
Now roll the balls in the maida mixture that we have made already.
Immerse the balls in the boiling water for 3 secs and remove them immediately.
Coat them evenly with the bread crumbs.Deep fry the balls in oil until they turn golden brown.
Crispy Veggie pops are ready to serve.Serve with tomato ketchup or mint chutney.
TAKE CARE TIPS
We can add mashed potatoes instead of rava.
Instead of oregano,we can use garam masala powder also.
If you dont like to immerse the balls in boiling water then just dip them in maida paste(maida + water) and then coat them with bread crumbs.
