Coconut burfi or Thengai burfi is an easy sweet recipe prepared using just 3 white ingredients grated coconut, milk and sugar. To make sweets one has to be really sweet because the preparation and the procedure needs lot of patience and time.I love making sweets at home for they are my favourites.Coconut burfi is a must sweet in my place for Diwali..
Coconut burfis are easily available common sweet at the shop but homemade ones tastes so good with juicy texture. The most important thing to follow is to grate them without scraping the brown part of the coconut.Only then we can make pure white burfis. Also grating them slowly gives small florets which gives perfect shaped burfis. This recipe does not require any one string formation with the sugar syrup.

TAKE CARE TIPS
Make burfis on low flame, increasing the flame gives brown, hard and unshaped burfis.
Add white ghee instead of yellow coloured ghee because they will change the colour of the burfis. But I have not added any ghee to this sweet recipe because the coconut on heating leaves oil.
You can add a pinch of cardamom powder and broken cashews to these burfis.
Adding pure refined sugar helps making white coconut burfis.
