Nethili or Anchovies are small sized fishes that gets cooked very quickly.Also they don’t need to be marinated for a long time.Just sauteing for a minute or two yields crispy ,yummy fries.
Only the cleaning part takes times for they are so small.The head and the fins (tail part ) needs to be removed and the stomach part should be cleaned well to avoid bad smell from them while cooking.Some people cook them with the head part also.So you can try either which your family likes to have.
Do make this Nethili fry at home and serve with yummy NETHILI KULAMBU for lunch.

PREPARATION TIME : 20 MINS

COOKING TIME : 5 MINS

SERVES : 3

INGREDIENTS

1 cup Nethili

1 tsp ginger garlic paste

1/2 tsp chilli powder

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

1/2 tsp fennel seeds

Salt to taste

METHOD

Heat oil in a pan add the ginger garlic paste and saute for a minute in low flame.
Then add the fennel seeds .chili powder,turmeric powder,salt and saute them for a min in oil in low flame.

Now add the fish pieces.

Do not stir the fishes and also don’t add any water.Cook for 2 mins in low flame.You need not turn the fishes also.After 2 mins switch off the flame.

cook for 2-3 mins

Serve the Nethili fish fry for lunch with hot steamed rice and NETHILI FISH KULAMBU

No need to add water for this fry.

Do not stir the fishes.

Just 2 mins in enough for the Nethili fishes to get cooked.
