Neer Mor / Spiced buttermilk

Neer Mor is spiced buttermilk which is popular in South India.A healthy,traditional drink that cools our body and keeps us hydrated.To make Neer mor the curd has to be little sour and fresh.The curd is beaten well with water then flavoured with ginger,asafoetida,curry leaves and finally tempered with sesame oil.A favourite summer drink as it is soothing for stomach and skin.Very cheap and easy to prepare at home.

PREPARATION TIME : 5 MINS

MAKING TIME : 5 MINS

YIELDS : 1 CUP

INGREDIENTS

1 cup curd

1 cup water

1/2 chilly

1/4 tsp grated ginger

Few curry leaves ( chopped )

Few coriander leaves ( chopped )

Salt to taste

TO TEMPER

1/2 sesame oil

1/4 tsp mustard seeds

1/4 tsp cumin seeds

A pinch of asafoetida

METHOD

Beat curd with 1 cup water and salt.

mix curd with water

Add the chilly,ginger,curry leaves and coriander leaves to the beaten buttermilk.

beat curd well

Temper the items under to temper column and mix it with the beaten buttermilk.

temper with asafoetida

Mix everything well.

mix well

Serve the Neer Mor immediately.
