YIELDS : 2
INGREDIENTS
FOR MAKING DOUGH
2 & 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 & 1/2 tsp yeast
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup water
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
FOR THE FILLING
1/4 cup cashews
1/2 up tutti frutti
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup grated coconut
1 tsp cardamom powder
METHOD
Mix flour and salt together in a wide bowl.Add milk to it.
Add water and butter.
Add sugar and bring it to luke warm until the butter melts and sugar dissolves.
Now add the yeast and let it rest for 5 mins.Add this to the flour.
Make soft smooth dough and let it rest for an hour until it doubles in size.
Now add the cashews, tutti frutti in a bowl.
Add coconut and cardamom powder to it.
Finally add sugar and mix them gently.
After an hour ,take the dough and knead it to remove the air and make 4 equal sized balls.Roll out one of the ball like how we make chapathis.
Fill them with the sweet mixture and spread it evenly leaving an inch gap at the edges.Brush the edges with water and close it with another rolled out dough.
Seal the edges well.
Preheat your oven to 190 degree C and bake for 18-20 mins.
Dilkush is now ready to serve.
TAKE CARE TIPS
Do not add yeast to hot mixture for it will kill the yeast.I have used instant yeast here.
Seal the edges properly so that the fillings doesn’t come out while baking.
Love the buns and their name! They definitely look dilkush (gorgeous)! And am sure taste great too! 🙂
