Coconut Thovayal is a very simple summer side dish for curd rice.Very easy to prepare with just few ingredients but tastes so delicious.It is more like chutney but has to be ground to a thick ,coarse paste.
As summer has already reached its peak in Chennai,I’m finding it so difficult to cook and take pics these days.Its been a week since I posted here in my space.Will share lot of juices and salads in my coming posts to make my work simple and keep my family healthy this summer.
PREPARATION TIME : 5 MINS
COOKING TIME : 5 MINS
SERVES : 4
INGREDIENTS
1/3 cup coconut pieces
4-5 dried red chillies
1 tbsp roasted bengal gram
3 cloves garlic
5 whole black pepper
A pea sized tamarind
Salt to taste
Water as required
METHOD
Take the ingredients in your mixie.
Grind them coarsely without water.Then add salt,water and grind for 20 sec
Grind them to a coarse ,thick paste.
Serve the Thengai thovayal with curd rice.
