Aval mixture / Poha chivda is an easy evening snack that could be done in a jiffy for kids back from school.It is a deep fried snack with a mixture of crispy poha,roasted gram,groundnuts,cashews,raisins seasoned with some curry leaves,chilli powder and salt. With just few ingredients and few minutes one can make a bowl of Aval mixture so quickly at home.
An appetizing snack that contains nutritious ingredients and also prepared hygienically at home with quality ingredients that adds more flavour and taste to the mixture.This crispy snack is a perfect treat for kids,family and friends.
PREPARATION TIME : 5 MINS
MAKING TIME : 5 MINS
1 & 1/2 cup poha / aval
1/4 cup roasted ground nuts
1/4 cup roasted gram
2 tbsp cahews
1 tbsp curry leaves
1/4 tsp turmeric powdr
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
A pinch of hing (optional)
Oil for deep frying
Salt to taste.
Heat oil in a kadai,reduce the flame to medium and deep fry the aval for just few seconds.Then deep fry the cashews .Transfer them to the large mixing bowl or a plate lined with kitchen paper.
Deep fry the roasted gram for 10 seconds in medium flame.
Fry the gorund nuts for 10 sec in medium flame.
Then the raisins.
Finally the curry leaves.
Mix everything together with turmeric powder,chilli powder,hing and salt.
Crispy Chivda perfect with tea or just to munch on as an evening snack.
