Kara Ammini Kozhukatai

Ammini kozhukatai are prepared with rice flour that are made into seedai shaped balls which is steamed and finally tossed with some lenthils,mustard seeds and curry leaves.We usually make this with the left over rice flour dough,it can also be served as an evening snack for kids back from school or you also make them for school lunch boxes.Very easy and healthy kozhukatai recipe that is so easy and quick to make on a busy and tiring day like Vinayagar Chathuthi.

PREPARATION TIME : 5 MINS

COOKIN TIME : 10 MINS

SERVES: 3

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup rice flour

1 tsp urad dal

1 tsp channa dal

1-2 red chillies

1 tsp oil

1 small piece cococnut

Salt to taste

Water as required

METHOD

Mix flour and salt together.Bring water to boil and add it to the flour to form a soft smooth dough.

Make small seedai shaped balls out of the dough.

Steam these small balls for 10 mins.

Dry roast chana dal,urad dal,curry leaves until the colour changes to mild orange and let it cool.Then grind it to fine powder with a small piece of fresh coconut.

Heat oil in a kadai,add urad dal and curry leaves and let it splutter ,then add the ground mixture and saute for a min in low flame.

Now add the steamed balls and mix them gently.

Ammini kozhukatai is ready for Neivedhyam .
