Naatu kozhi rasam is prepared using chicken stock with some freshly ground ingredients ,you can also use readymade rasam powder.To make chicken stock,pressure cook naatu kozhi with salt and water.You would need a cup of chicken broth to serve two people.This rasam is usually served with steamed rice or you can just have it as soup.

INGREDIENTS
150g Naatukozhi
1 tomato
1/2 gooseberry sized tamarind (soak in 1/2 cup water)
Few curry leaves
1 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp pepper
2 dried red chillies
2 cloves garlic
A pinch of hing
1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
Salt yo taste
2 tsp gingelly oil
METHOD
Pressure cook the chicken with 1 1/4 cup water for 3 whistles on high flame and then simmer the flame and cook for 10 mins.
Grind cumin,pepper,chillies and curry leaves.Soak tamarind in half cup of water and then strain the juice and discard the residue.Smash a tomato to this tamarind juice and keep it aside.
Heat oil in a kadai,add the mustard seeds,fenugreek seeds, urad dal,garlic,curry leaves and then the ground ingredients .
Finally add the tamarind juice,tomato and chicken stock and cook on high flame.Then switch off the flame and add coriander leaves.
Serve them with hot steamed rice .
