Murukku is a traditional deep fried snack recipe of India made using rice flour and lenthil flour .Though murukkus are easily available in the stores these days,homemade murukkus are always the best.Ring Murukku or Chegudilu is a popular savoury snack from Andhra and very easy to make at home for it doesn’t require any grinding process.With just two main ingredients rice flour and soaked moong dal, you can make this snack and us perfect for all occasions.You can use omam,sesame seeds or cumin for flavour.Do try this murukku at home and have a nice day😊
PREPARATION TIME:10 MINS
SOAKING TIME(MOONG DAL) : 1 HOUR
MAKING TIME : 20-30 MINS
1 cup rice flour
1 tbsp moong dal ( paasiparuppu)
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
1 tbsp oil
1 cup water
1 tbsp GHEE
A generous of asafoetida
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
In a wide pan,add 1 cup water,moong dal ,chilli powder,asafoetida,salt,oil and bring it to boil.
When it start to boil ,add 1 cup rice flour and mix well to form a dough.
Then add 1 tbsp hot ghee and let it rest for 10 mins.
Make small rings out of the dough .
Deep fry these rings and drain the excess oil using kitchen tissues or towel.
Store in an airtight container and it stays good for 2 weeks.
