Besan Papdi is an easy ,crispy savory snack made especially for Holi and Diwali.These papdis can be easily made in huge batches ,for they get fried in just 2 mins and will also make great Holi gifts !
Usually only salt is added to make these papdis,i have added some chilly powder and ajwain for taste and flavour.You can also add cumin ,methi for more flavor.Do try this crispy snack for TEA time snack☕
PREPARATION TIME : 5 MINS
MAKING TIME : 10 MINS
2 cups besan flour/kadalai maavu
1/2 tsp ajwain/omam
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp oil
Water as required
In a large mixing bowl,add all the ingredients and make a sticky dough using water.Let it rest for 10 mins.
Heat oil in a kaadai ,add the dough to your murukku mould with the shown disc,carefully press directly into oil in such a way they don’t stick to each other.Fry on low flame for a min and drain using a kitchen paper.
Let them cool down,they turn crispy upon cooling .Store in an airtight container.Serve them with evening TEA
