Soya chunks also known as meal maker is a healthy protein rich food that are widely used in Indian vegetarian cooking.Simple and easy to prepare recipe where soya chunks are grated,sauteed with hot and spicy mixture then stuffed inside a dosai or chappathi.
The stuffing taste so much like minced mutton,your kids will love to have these stuffed dosai and will definitely ask you for more.
PREPARATION TIME : 10 MINS
MAKING TIME : 5 MINS FOR 1 DOSAI
SERVES : 1 DOSAI
INGREDIENTS
12 soya chunks
1 onion ( chopped )
1 tomato ( chopped )
1 green chilly
1 clove garlic
1/4 tsp fennel seeds/saunf
An inch of ginger
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp garam masala powder
2 tbsp oil
Ghee for dosai
Salt as required
METHOD
Add the soya chunks in boiling water and switch off the flame.After 15 mins squeeze the excess water completely and keep it aside.Heat oil in a pan ,saute the onions and tomato until they cooked well.
Pulse the soya chunks with salt,green chilly,fennel seeds,garlic and ginger for 4 secs.
Add this ground mixture to the sauteed onion and tomato.Add turmeric powder,chilli powder,garam masala powder and saute for 10 mins on low flame.
Heat a dosa pan, pour a laddle of batter and make a thin dosai.Drizzle little ghee and add the stuffing at the center of the dosai.
Fold the dosai from 3 sides as shown in the pic to form a triangle.
Serve the protein rich dosai hot and crispy.
This must be pretty healthy…I love Dosa anyway 🙂
