Chutneys are the best accompaniment for Indian breakfast recipes.I would like to share a chutney recipe using curry leaves that doesn’t require any cooking process .They are not only easy to prepare but healthy too.As chutneys are ground with fresh ingredients there is no loss of any nutrients.Curry leaves when blended with coconut and garlic brings out a nice flavor and taste.
Curry leaves are mainly used as a flavoring agent but we should include them by grinding in the form of chutney for that would be the easiest way to incorporate them in our diet.Do make this Kariveppillai chutney often for your loved family and have a healthy day.

1/2 cup curry leaves (karuveppillai)
1/2 cup grated coconut
3 tbsp roasted gram dal(pottkadalai)
2 cloves garlic
1/2 green chilly
A pea sized tamarind
1/4 tsp mustard seed
1/4 tsp urad dhal
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
2 tsp oil
Salt to taste
Water as required
Grind coconut,curry leaves,garlic,tamarind,green chilly,salt with water to a paste.
Heat oil in a pan,add mustard seeds,urad dal,cumin seeds and when they splutter add it to the chutney.
Serve the Karuveppillai chutney with hot steamed Idly.
