An instant murukku recipe that doesn’t require any soaking or grinding process.Just with two main ingredients rice flour and besan flour ,one can make this murukku in a jiffy.The nutty flavour from the sesame seeds and besan flour makes it more flavourful.If you prefer a spicy version then just add 1/2 tsp of chilli powder while preparing the dough.A perfect homemade murukku recipe that could be made so quickly with the readily available ingredients for kids back from school.Do try this crispy murukku and have wonderful tea time ☕ with your lovely family❤
PREPARATION TIME : 5 MINS
COOKING TIME :20 MINS
YIELDS : 2 CUPS
1 cup rice flour
1/2 cup kadalai maavu / besan flour
1 tsp sesame seeds
1 tbsp butter
A generous pinch of asafoetida
Water as required
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
In a wide mixing bowl add rice flour,besan flour, sesame seeds,asafoetida,salt and mix well.Sieve the rice flour and besan flour before adding .
Then add butter,water to make a soft pliable dough.
I used the star shaped disc in the murukku maker for making these murukkus.Heat oil in a kadai,carefully press directly into oil in such a way they don’t stick to each other in low flame .Fry in low flame and drain using a kitchen paper.
Enjoy the crispy murukkus with a hot cup of TEA

Never get tempted to increase the flame,fry in low flame .
You can also add ajwain for sesame seeds
Adding butter at room temperature is enough to get crispy murukkus.
