Pottukadalai murukku recipe

Murukku is a traditional deep fried snack recipe of India made using rice flour and lenthil flour Though murukkus are easily available in the stores these days,homemade murukkus are always the best.Pottukadalai murukku is very easy and quick to make at home for it doesn’t require any soaking or grinding process.With just two main ingredients rice flour and roasted gram flour ,we can make this snack in no time.You can use omam,sesame seeds or cumin for flavour.For a spicy version add a tsp of chilli powder.An instant murukku recipe that is so easy,crispy and perfect for Diwali.You can make this murukku few days prior and have a wonderful celebration with your loved ones at home this Diwali.

PREPARATION TIME : 10 M INS

MAKING TIME : 20 MINS

INGREDIENTS

2 cups rice flour

1/2 cup roasted gram flour (pottukdalai maavu)

1 1/2 tbsp butter melted (warm)

1 tsp sesame seeds

Oil for frying

Salt to taste

Water as required

Powder the pottukadalai finely in your mixie and sieve it.

Sieve the rice flour and pottukadalai maavu.

In a wide mixing bowl add rice flour,roasted gram flour, sesame seeds,salt and mix well.Add melted butter ,water to make a soft dough.

Heat oil in a kadai.Fill the murukku maker with the dough and slowly press directly into oil.

Fry the murukku until cooked and drain in a kitchen paper.

Enjoy the crispy murukkus with a hot cup of TEA

TAKE CARE TIPS

Never get tempted to increase the flame,fry in medium-low flame .

You can also add ajwain for sesame seeds.

You can also use 3 star murukku shaped disc .
