Kadai Paneer is another famous side dish paneer recipe prepared using kadai,a special Indian cookware which is used in most of the Indian kitchen.A very simple recipe that is prepared with cashew and almond paste which is added to sautéed onions,tomatoes and capsicum and then finally paneer is added with some Kasturi methi for more flavour.The main ingredient here is the KADAI MASALA POWDER which enhances the flavour and taste of this dish.You can also use store bought kadai masala powder and PANEER if you don’t have time to make them at home.This kadai paneer recipe goes well with rotis ,naans and Jeera rice..Do make this recipe at home and serve it with your favorite breakfast.

INGREDIENTS

100gm PANEER

2 onions

1 tomato

1/2 capsicum

4 cloves garlic

1 inch ginger

2 green chillies

2 tsp KADAI MASALA POWDER

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1/2 tsp red chilli powder

6 cashews

5 almond

2 tbsp oil

1/ 4 tsp kasthoori methi

Salt to taste

Water as required

METHOD

Chop green chillies, garlic and ginger finely.

Heat oil in a kadai, add the chopped garlic, ginger, green chillies and saute for 2 mins in low flame. Add chopped onions and saute for 2 mins in low flame.

Then add tomatoes and sure for 2 mins followed by capsicum and saute for 2 more mins in low flame.Add 2 tsp kadai masala powder, chilli powder,turmeric powder, salt and mix well .

Grind the cashews and almonds with 1/2 cup water. Now add the ground cashew and almond paste to the sauteed mixture.Add another 1/ 2 cup water and let it cook for 7 mins in medium flame.

Switch off the flame and add paneer and kasthoori methi.

Serve with rotis or nans .

TAKE CARE TIPS

Always use quality paneer.(Hatsun is really good in India)

Use 1/2 tsp garam masala,1/2 tspcoriander powder and 1/4 tsp cumin powder if you don’t have kadai masala powder.

You can also garnish with few chopped coriander leaves.

You can also fry the paneer and then add to the gravy.
